Please join us for for Amnesty International’s Global Write-a-thon!

Highlights of the event:
- Featured speaker - Susan L. Burke, Philadelphia lawyer working on behalf of Abu Ghraib torture victims and Blackwater shooting victims
- Music – The Alfie Moss/Dexter Koonce Project, renowned and award-winning musicians from Wilmington, DE, will perform. Listen at CDBaby
- Speaker – Kathleen Lucas will present the story of her friend Sameh Khouzam, York PA Amnesty member and subject of a recent Urgent Action
- Refreshments – snacks, cider and homemade baked goods
- Activities for children – including face-painting and decorating cards for Sameh Khouzam and other prisoners.
- Most importantly, letter-writing! Help us write letters on behalf of Global Write-a-thon cases, send cards for the Holiday Card Action, send messages of hope to Sameh Khouzam, and more

About the Global Write-a-thon
December 10th is International Human Rights Day. To mark this day, join thousands of people across the United States and all around the world as they participate in Amnesty International’s Global Writeathon – Amnesty’s largest and most renowned letter writing event. More information
How to Get There
The Media Community Center is at Third and North Jackson streets, and there is parking adjacent. (There is a map at the bottom of this page) It is also a few blocks from the Jackson Street trolley stop and 0.6 mile from the SEPTA R3 Media station. If you will be arriving by train, please let us know in your registration if you would like a lift from the SEPTA station to the Community Center.
